In the Land of the Giants

About the Show

Originally workshopped in Uncabaret’s “Uncab Lab” with Beth Lapides and Greg Miller, In the Land of the Giants is a fractured tale of the absurdities of growing up a child actress in Hollywood and surviving a rejecting father, an overprotective stage-mother, a maniacal child-psychologist, sadistic acting coaches, major and minor celebrities and cute, self-involved actors. Told in story and song with black humor and a bad-ass band, Blair Tefkin’s autobiographical narrative chronicles the highs and lows of a career that began with childhood triumphs like beating out Jodie Foster for a part in “Land of The Giants” and hanging out with Nancy Sinatra on the set of the Dean Martin show, to starring in a hit series, to the indignities of a career slide that culminate in playing “Girl on Bus” in an afterschool special,
this show is a funny, moving and ultimately triumphant journey of a woman finding her way in the land of the “giants.”
