Matel Visniec creates a stunning satire of Stalinism, a hilarious image from this dark page in history. The play takes us to The Central Hospital for Mental Disorders of Moscow in 1953, three weeks before Stlin’s death, where writer Yuri Petrovski is invited to lecture about the history of Communism to enlighten and, hopefully cure, the mental patients.
This production is part of The Open Fist Theatre Company’s celebration of contemporary French theatre made possible in part by Etant donnes, the French- American Fund for the Performing Arts, and The Associateion Beaumarchais.
