The melodrama is back! And some very bad things happen to nice people, as bold, full-body acting, emotions hanging from every corner as agonies and ecstasies, cruelty and suffering are explored in Golden Prospects, a Los Angeles melodrama. Written and directed by Colin Campbell, this play tells the tale of the Goodman’s, an unfortunate family who moves west in 1901 in search of the American dream but instead finds its innocence robbed in Los Angeles. The family falls victim to swindlers and cheats who unapologetically prey upon the hopeful.
