New York City
Tom Dudzick’s newest play Don’t Talk to the Actors follows the adventures of fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiancée Arlene Wyniarski, who are suddenly swept up in the whirlwind of New York’s theatre scene when Jerry’s autobiographical play is optioned for Broadway.
It’s a young playwright’s dream, but the characters and dilemmas they encounter (including a 1980s television star and his bawdy television wife, a distressed stage manager, and an unflappable out-of-town director) provide the ingredients for a hysterical comedy of epic proportions.
