It was 1941, and in one little corner of the world, a trio of girls known as The Gardenias were singing at the Capitan, a local night club in San Diego’s Gas Lamp District. Like so many others, they were left behind keeping spirits alive while the young men in their hearts and dreams went off to fight a war that would change the world forever. The world premiere of Joe Camareno’s Delia’s Song recalls the tunes of that era that became the great standards of the last century. This musical salute to World War II stars Ricardo Molina and Rebecca Luchy. Taylor Ashbrook directs.
