About the Show

Robert Fieldsteel’s Crazy Drunk takes off from an actual incident in 1903 in which philanthropist Griffith J. Griffith (donor of Los Angeles’ Griffith Park) shot his wife. This darkly comic memory play chronicles the sensational trial that ensued from the point of view of Griffith’s celebrated attorney, Earl Rogers, and Rogers’ daughter, who grew up to be famous Hollywood journalist Adela Rogers St. Johns.
