Halley’s Comet

The Massasoit Theatre Company presents the staged reading of the brand new musical Halley’s Comet. Written by Cameron Torres, Mikey O’Malley and Eli Bigelow, the year is 1986, and Halley’s Comet is about to pass over the town of Huntersville. The town has pulled out all the stops for this spectacular wonder. As the town prepares, a young girl spends her night reuniting her parents, a teen scrambles to keep friendships intact, and an elderly couple gets lost in the past. Through the mysticism of the comet, the park, and the night itself, moments from the past meet the present and guide the town towards the future, as they embark on a night that is truly once in a lifetime. Directed by Gary Bigelow this new work’s staged reading will run for two shows April 7 & 8th at the Buckley Performing Arts Center on the Brockton campus of Massasoit Community College. Both performances will include a talkback to obtain audience opinions and suggestions on the new work.
