About This Show

Eric Hill returns to the Unicorn Theatre this season after last year’s Main Stage production of Peter Pan, to direct the world premiere of Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha, A Jungian Fantasy, which he adapted from the novel. Hill’s version of Siddhartha’s epic spiritual quest, is crowded with all the usual suspects – Buddha, Govinda, Kamazwami and the seductress Kamala, as well as with a host of more earthly entities, including Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Hesse himself. Renowned for his imagery, director Hill has translated this classic and iridescent tale of one man’s pursuit of enlightenment into a rhythmic and theatrical sensual feast.

Postscript performance July 12.
