About the Show

An Enchanting Afternoon

Annie Moscow – piano & vocals, Vanessa Purdy – backup vocals & guitar, Suzanne Lansford – violin, Wesley Skinner – cello, John Herrera – percussion, Frank Smith – woodwinds & keys
Treat yourself to a lovely, laid back and thought-provoking afternoon featuring the music of melodic jazz/pop artist Annie Moscow, joined by a stellar lineup of Arizona musicians. The concert will feature many of Moscow’s original songs, as well as a few unexpected arrangements on classic standards.
Originally from Philadelphia, Annie Moscow studied classical piano and jazz at Indiana University with David Baker, then went on to become a songwriter, with credits ranging from Sarah Vaughn to Sister Sledge to Mickey Mouse. In 2000, she stepped out on her own as a solo artist and to date has released six solo CDs, including “Passing Trains” (2017) produced by the late John Jennings (Mary Chapin Carpenter) which shot up to #20 on the Folk DJ charts, and her recent nationally acclaimed release, “Land of Dreams”, from which the band will be performing a number of songs today. Moscow has also written and performed twelve musical shows for the Herberger Theater.
“Moscow wows listeners with her emotional wisdom and observations. Her songs are lyrically rich, sonically varied and tasteful….with insight that lends a relatability and engaging grace.” Vents Magazine 2/24
