Everything Is Great! A Town Hall for the People

A Satirical Reimagining of the Town Hall Format: part town hall, part improvised parody. Comedians return to Alabama this summer with a sharp, satirical twist on civic engagement in Everything Is Great! A Town Hall for the People, a hilarious reimagining of the traditional town hall format. Taking place July 30 at Saturn in Birmingham's Avondale neighborhood, the one-night-only performance offers audiences a uniquely absurd — and cathartic — comedy experience grounded in real issues and community connection. Created by Alabama native and internationally touring comedian Matt Davis, the show parodies the dysfunction and spectacle of modern politics. Comedians portray fictional elected officials in a civic-style improv show where audience members submit real concerns. Those issues are then dramatized, distorted, and debated through wild character responses, fictional sponsorships, performative bureaucracy, and chaotic dark-money competitions.
