Seattle Premiere of JERK Set for On The Boards logo
A scene from JERK
The North American premiere of the Gisèle Vienne-Dennis Cooper play, JERK, is set to open at On The Boards in the Studio Theater, November 5-9.

The piece is Vienne's adaptation of Cooper's novella told from the perspective of David Brooks, an inmate incarcerated for his assistance in a string of murders committed by the 1970's serial killer, Dean Corll, and his fellow accomplice Wayne Henley. Animated with puppetry and ventriloquism, Jonathan Capdevielle will re-enact the lecture/demonstration Brooks held for a group of psychology students visiting his prison.

Cooper and Vienne started working together in 2004 on their first work, I apologize, and their ongoing collaboration has yielded three performances to date. Vienne creates works using a combination of puppetry, choreography and text, which have seen productions around the world. Cooper is an award-winning, punk author.
