Garrison, Kane, Kassebaum, Wicks Set for San Francisco Wicked

Preliminary casting has been announced for the San Francisco engagement of Wicked, which will begin performances on January 27 at the Orpheum Theatre. The production will star Teal Wicks (Elphaba), Kendra Kassebaum (Glinda), David Garrison (The Wizard), and Carol Kane (Madame Morrible). Full casting will be announced shortly.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Wicked had its world premiere in San Francisco in 2003 before moving to Broadway.

The design team includes Eugene Lee (set), Susan Hilferty (costumes), Kenneth Posner (lighting), Tony Meola (sound), William David Brohn (orchestrations), and James Lynn Abbott (dance arrangements).
