Ian Simpson, Rena Wilson to Star in 42nd Street Moon’s Lady, Be Good!

Casting has been announced for 42nd Street Moon’s production of George and Ira Gershwin’s Lady, Be Good!, to play the Eureka Theatre, March 31-April 18, with an opening on April 3. Chris Smith will direct, with musical direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Zack Thomas Wilde.

The piece is a farce about a brother and sister who, through a series of madcap adventures, find themselves rocketing from the state of the dispossessed to wealth and popularity among the Long Island haut monde. Songs include “Fascinating Rhythm,” “Little Jazz Bird,” “The Half-of-It-Dearie Blues,” and the title song. The production, which will be reset to take place in San Francisco, is the first work in a multi-year salute to Ira Gershwin.

Ian Simpson and Rena Wilson will star as Dick and Susie Trevor, with the cast also including Andrew Boyer (Watty Watkins), Noel Anthony (Jack Robinson), Lexie Papedo (Shirley Vernon), Ben Knoll (Bertie Bassett), Lillian Askew Everdell (Daisy), and Rudy Guerrero (Estrada/Rufus). Also featured are Nicholas Yenson, Luke Anthony, Kerie Geni Darner, Caleb Haven Draper, and Jade Shojaee.
