UPDATED: Jenni Putney and Mark Alhadeff to Star in George Street Playhouse’s Venus in Fur

The Tony-nominated David Ives play will run April 23 – May 18.

UPDATED: George Street Playhouse has announced that its upcoming coproduction with Philadelphia Theatre Company of David Ives’ 2012 Tony Award-nominated dark comedy Venus in Fur will star Mark Alhadeff, who served as an understudy in the recent Broadway production, and Jenni Putney (A Dram of Dummhicit). Putney will take on the role of mysterious actress Vanda, while Alhadeff plays Thomas, the demanding playwright/director for whom Vanda is auditioning. Kip Fagan (The Revisionist) will direct the play, PTC’s third production by David Ives.

August 23, 2012 – George Street Playhouse has announced that it will present David Ives’ 2012 Tony-nominated play Venus in Fur as the final offering of its 2012-2013 season. The production will run April 23-May 18, 2013.

Venus in Fur is an emotionally-charged game of cat and mouse that unfolds as the young actress Vanda makes clear her determination to land the lead in Thomas’ new play, an adaptation of the classic erotic novel Venus in Fur.
