Bristol Riverside Theatre Announces 2009 Summer Season

Bristol Riverside Theatre has announced its 2009 summer programming.

The 13th season of the Summer Musicale Series will include It Was A Very Good Year ( June 18-28), featuring the pop standards of the late 50s and early 60s; Woodstock at 40 (July 16-26), featuring the rock music that marked a generation in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Woodstock; and Broadway Starlight (August 13-23), featuring the songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Stephen Sondheim and Mel Brooks.

BRT’s 4th annual jazz weekend (July 31-August 2), will feature Warren Oree & The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, the Eric Mintel Quartet, and guitarists Jack Wilkins and Howard Alden. The theater will also present Amazing World of Magic (June 30-July 5) and a number of professionally staged productions for youth, by youth including: High School Musical I, Steps (That’s What Kids Do II), Dear Edwina, School House Rock, Drowsy Chaperone, Jr., Blue’s Clues Birthday Party, and Broadway Bound Musical Revue.
