Forbidden Broadway Creator Presents Hamilton Parody, Spamilton
Gerard Alessandrini's new show will feature special guests including Christine Pedi.
Gerard Alessandrini, the creator of Forbidden Broadway, has announced plans for his new show Spamilton. The celebration and parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton will run for 18 performances at the Triad beginning July 19.
Spamilton will star Juwan Crawley, Chris Anthony Giles, Nicholas Alexander Rodriguez, Dan Rosales, and Nora Schell, along with special surprise guest stars, including Christine Pedi.
The creative team of Spamilton includes Gerry McIntyre (choreography), Dustin Cross (costume design), and Richard Danley (music direction). The show is produced by David Zippel and John Freedson.
Gerard Alessandrini is best known for writing or directing 25 editions of Forbidden Broadway in New York and around the world. His television credits include writing comedy specials for Bob Hope, Angela Lansbury, Carol Burnett, and Masterpiece Theatre's 25 Anniversary. Gerard is the recipient of an Obie Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, two Lucille Lortel Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Drama League, and four Drama Desk Awards.
