Lydia R. Diamond’s Smart People, set to open at Second Stage Theatre, was forced to delay its first preview after Winter Storm Jonas halted rehearsals over the weekend. Preview performances, originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, January 26, will now begin Wednesday January 27. The production's official opening will remain February 11.

All ticket holders for the performance on January 26 can call the Second Stage box office at (212) 246-4422 to reschedule their tickets.

Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun), Smart People is described as follows: "The quest for love, achievement and identity is universal, but what role does race play in the story of our lives? On the eve of Obama's first election, four Harvard intellectuals find themselves entangled in a complex web of social and sexual politics in this provocative and funny new play by Lydia R. Diamond."

The cast features Mahershala Ali (House of Cards), Joshua Jackson (The Affair), Anne Son (My Generation), and Tessa Thompson (Creed).
