Trip Cullman directs the Second Stage Theatre production.
Casting has been announced for Second Stage Theatre's world-premiere production of Leslye Headland's The Layover. The dark comedy will begin previews August 9, with opening night set for August 25 under the direction of Trip Cullman.
The company will include Quincy Dunn-Baker (Draft Day), Arica Himmel, Annie Parisse (Antlia Pneumatica), John Procaccino (Our Mother’s Brief Affair), Adam Rothenberg (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea), and Amelia Workman (The Shipment).
The play follows Shellie and Dex, a pair of strangers on a delayed flight, as they attempt to discover the stories and secrets each is hiding. Layover reunites Headland with director Trip Cullman, who previously collaborated on the hit Second Stage Uptown production of Bachelorette in 2010, and the Playwrights Horizons production of Assistance in 2012. Headland is also the author of the film version of Bachelorette, About Last Night, and Sleeping With Other People.
