Company XIV to Present World Premiere of Cinderella
The company's founder, Austin McCormick, offers a brand-new take based on the fairy tale.
Company XIV will present the world premiere of its latest work, a new interpretation of the fairy tale Cinderella, starting March 8 for a 13-week limited engagement at their new Théâtre XIV space in Bushwick, Brooklyn, with opening night set for March 12.
Directed and choreographed by Company XIV creator Austin McCormick, Cinderella is described as "a spectacular theatrical event based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault (1697). It features XIV's unique blend of circus, burlesque, vaudeville, baroque dance and sumptuous design."
The cast for Cinderella includes Allison Ulrich, Lilin Lace, Nicholas and Ross Katen, Nolan McKew, Ryan Redmond, Jacoby Pruitt, Nathaniel Hunt, Cara Seymour, Lexxe, and Michelle Lee. The creative team includes Zane Pihlstrom (costume and set design), Jeanette Yew (lighting design), and Sarah Cimino (makeup design).
