The new play comes to the Big Apple after a run at George Street Playhouse.
Emmy and Grammy winner Marlo Thomas will star in the New York premiere of Tony winner Joe DiPietro's Clever Little Lies, set to hit the stage at the Westside Theatre beginning September 18. Opening night is set for October 14, with the limited engagement set to conclude January 3.
DiPietro's play follows a family as a web of secrets and lies is unraveled over the course of an evening, and a confidence shared between a father and son escalates into an unexpected revelation. Thomas takes on the role of family matriarch Alice.
Clever Little Lies premiered at the George Street Playhouse in 2013, with a cast that also included Greg Mullavey (iCarly), Jim Stanek (Freud's Last Session), and Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde). David Saint, who directed that production, will helm the New York mounting, with full casting still to be announced.
DiPietro is the author of Living on Love, the Tony-winning Memphis, and Nice Work If You Can Get It, among other shows.
