NY Premiere of Martin McDonagh's Hangmen Set for Atlantic Theater Season
The American premiere of Martin McDonagh's play Hangmen is on tap for Atlantic Theater Company's 2017-18 season.
Following a sold-out run at London's Royal Court and a West End transfer, the production will be directed by Matthew Dunster and will run January 18-March 4, 2018.
Kicking off the new season will be Simon Stephens' On the Shore of the Wide World, directed by Neil Pepe (August 23-October 1). Rajiv Joseph's Describe the Night, directed by Giovanna Sardelli, will follow (November 1-December 17) in a coproduction with the Alley Theatre. The world premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu's The Homecoming Queen will take place January 10-February 11, 2018. Lauren Yee's The Great Leap will have its New York premiere May 23-June 17, 2018.
Additionally, Atlantic will present the world premiere of the new musical This Ain't No Disco, with a score by Hedwig and the Angry Inch revival collaborators Stephen Trask and Peter Yanowitz, and a book by Tony nominee Rick Elice. Directed by Trip Cullman, it runs May 11-July 1, 2018.
Atlantic For Kids will present Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical, with a score by Greg Borowsky and Douglas Lyons and a book by Melvin Tunstall III. It runs September 16-October 8.
