Softfocus is a theater incubator designed to create an alternative to the reading-based development cycle and produce New York premieres in real time. It was founded by Matt Kagen and Fern Diaz to provide playwrights artistic development, followed by a heavily marketed premiere on a New York stage with a goal of going from page to audience in six months.
