Hello again, and welcome aboard, explorers! It’s hard to believe that this is my third semester writing for TheaterMania University, and yet, here we are again. I just want to thank everyone who has faithfully read my mad ramblings for the past year and shared them with the world! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading them as much as I’ve enjoyed…rambling them. Seriously though, I very much appreciate your readership and sharing.

For those of you who are new to me, I’ll give you a short rundown of who I am and what I do. I have been performing in one capacity or another since the age of two, and since the age of five much of that has consisted of musical theater. I am a devoted fan of Broadway, and have spent most of these 20 short years singing, dancing, and acting my way through life.

When I’m not performing (or in rehearsals), I’m usually in class or working. Exciting life I lead! But in the rare event that I have a free moment, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, crafting, reading, and indulging in my far-too-numerous fandoms (including Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Monty Python).

I truly enjoy writing, and furthermore enjoy helping others through what I write. And what I write through TheaterMania University is (hopefully) the answers to all the most pressing questions that theater students have. I interview students, professors, and professionals from all over the country, and try to bring you solutions, advice, and stories to help you be more successful, whatever your endeavor!

One of the things I’m trying to improve this semester is my communication with people like you, people who read my articles. Although I do my best to come up with ideas and questions that I think you will find interesting, the fact remains that my psychic abilities are dismal at best. So, I request of you: help me help you! Comment on my posts [or send me emails at [email protected]] and share with me what YOU want to know more about—or share your knowledge that you think others need to know!

Next week, I’ll be taking a look at summer, that glorious season where the sun is shining, the tourists flocking…and most people’s productivity levels are at an all-time low. What are the best ways to spend your summer, both for your mental health and for your future career? Come back next week, when I’ll go into depth about summer stock, summer programs, and training! I am excited and ready to be here at TheaterMania University, and can’t wait to launch full force into the semester!
