The Outsiders National Tour Sets Initial Casting

Initial casting has been announced for the national tour of the The Outsiders, the Tony-winning musical based on the novel by S.E. Hinton and Francis Ford Coppola’s motion picture.

The Outsiders is about Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, their Greaser family of “outsiders,” and their affluent rivals, the Socs. It is currently playing on Broadway at the Jacobs Theatre.

Leading the cast of The Outsiders are Nolan White as Ponyboy Curtis, Bonale Fambrini as Johnny Cade, Tyler Jordan Wesley as Dallas Winston, Travis Roy Rogers as Darrel Curtis, Corbin Drew Ross as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Hearn as Cherry Valance, Jaydon Nget as Two-Bit, Mark Doyle as Bob, and Jackson Reagin as Paul. At certain performances, Jordan DeAndre Williams will play the role of Ponyboy Curtis.

The tour will tech and launch at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre in Buffalo, September 19-23, and will also preview at the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha, September 28-October 4. The official opening is at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center on October 8.

The Outsiders has a book by Adam Rapp with Justin Levine, music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, music supervision, orchestration, and arrangements by Justin Levine, choreography by Rick Kuperman and Jeff Kuperman, and direction by Danya Taymor. Music direction and additional orchestrations are by Matt Hinkley.

The Outsiders features scenography by AMP featuring Tatiana Kahvegian, costume design by Sarafina Bush, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Cody Spencer, projection design by Hana S. Kim, special effects design by Jeremy Chernick and Lillis Meeh, hair and wig design by Alberto “Albee” Alvarado, and makeup design by Tishonna Ferguson. The sound effects specialist is Taylor Bense. The creative consultant is Jack Viertel.
