Taylor Mac will bring a portion of A 24-Decade History of Popular Music to the Space on Ryder Farm this summer for two performances, August 6 and 7.

Mac will present the 1986-2016 excerpt of the daylong show, which consists of songs spanning the history of America, with approximately one hour of performance dedicated to each decade. Mac began creating the show in 2012 and will present it in its entirety this fall at St. Ann's Warehouse, September 15-October 8. It will feature a 24-piece orchestra and various special guests.

A 24-Decade History of Popular Music is conceived, written, performed, and codirected by Mac. Collaborators include music director Matt Ray, codirector Niegel Smith, costume designer Machine Dazzle, dramaturg Jocelyn Clarke, and lighting designer John Torres. The work is coproduced by Pomegranate Arts and Nature’s Darlings.
