Los Angeles’ Storybook Theatre will run an award-winning, interactive musical version of Hansel and Gretel from October 6-March 16 at Theatre West. Elliot Kevin Schwartz will direct.
Based on the Grimm’s fairy tale and adapted book by Lloyd J. Schwartz, this popular show is about a brother and sister who leave home, follow bread crumbs through the theatre, meet a funny witch and a wacky bird, have all kinds of adventures, and, along the way, learn that no matter what trouble you are in, it’s never a good idea to run away. Hansel and Gretel is recommended for kids ages 3-9.
The production features music and lyrics by Hope and Laurence Juber and is produced by Barbara Mallory.
