Spider-Man‘s Philip William McKinley to Direct The Bible, The Beginning

Philip William McKinley will direct The Bible: The Beginning, a live show to be presented in arena-sized venues, according to Deadline.com.


According to the report, the show is tentatively scheduled to begin performances in late 2012. “It will use music, dialogue, tumblers, jugglers, singers, aerialists and fighters to re-enact the Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah’s Ark, Moses and his clash with the Pharoah, the plagues of Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea, all culminating in the delivery of The Ten Commandments,” according to the site.


The show will feature music by Michael Levine, Matt Rawlings, and Ryan Bevridge, lyrics by Maribeth Derry, and a book by Shaun McKenna. The sets will be by Mark Fisher and Ray Winkler.


McKinley is currently represented on Broadway by Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and he directed the Broadway production of The Boy From Oz.
