The actor stars in ”A Raisin in the Sun” at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.
Actor Will Cobbs took over TheaterMania's Instagram account this past weekend to give a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the run of Arena Stage's production of A Raisin in the Sun. Here's a sneak peek of the actors backstage during a big two-show day.
Cobbs stars as Walter Lee alongside Dawn Ursula (Ruth), Joy Jones (Beneatha), Lizan Mitchell (Lena) and Jeremiah Hasty (Travis). They are joined by Mack Leamon (Bobo), Thomas Adrian Simpson (Karl Lindner), Keith L. Royal Smith (George Murchison), and Bueka Uwemedimo as Joseph Asagai. Rounding out the cast are Emmanuel Epongo Jr. (understudy for Travis Younger), Brit Herring (Karl Lindner, beginning May 2), and Valeka J. Holt (understudy for Ruth Younger, assuming the role May 2).

A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, follows the members of the Younger family, who yearn for a better life far from the cramped confines of their Chicago tenement. Hope arrives in the form of an unexpected financial windfall, but family ties are strained when they realize they have differing definitions of the American dream.
The creative team includes Donald Eastman(set design), Harry Nadal (costume design), Robert Wierzel (lighting design), Fabian Obispo (original composition and sound design), and Anne Nesmith (wig design). Lewis Shaw is the fight director, and Gary Logan is the vocal coach.
