Universal Pictures Content Group will release Six The Musical Live! in US movie theaters on August 14. Focus Features will handle domestic distribution for the studio.
Six The Musical Live! is written by Tony winners Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and reimagines the wives of Henry VIII as pop icons in a celebration of sisterhood, empowerment, and pop royalty.
The film was recorded at the Vaudeville Theatre in London with the original West End Queens reprising their roles: Jarnéia Richard-Noel as Catherine of Aragon, Millie O’Connell as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Alexia McIntosh as Anna of Cleves, Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard, and Maiya Quansah-Breed as Catherine Parr.
The stage show was directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage and the film was directed by Liz Clare.
