Shohreh Aghdashlo, Jane Bertish, et al. Set for Almeida Theatre’s The House of Bernarda Alba

The Almeida Theatre has announced complete casting for Emily Mann’s new version of Federico Garcia Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba, to run January 19 – March 10. Bijan Sheibani will direct the production.

The play centers on a stern woman, who after her husband’s death, imposes a strict period of mourning on her daughters. As previously reported, the production will star Shohreh Aghdashloo in the title role, with the cast also including Jane Bertish (La Poncia), Pandora Colin (Angustias), Jasmina Daniel (Maria Josefa), Amanda Hale (Martirio), Seline Hizli (Amelia), Sarah Solemani (Maryam), Mia Soteriou (A Maid), Badria Timimi (Prudencia) and Hara Yannas (Adela).

The creative team will include production designer Bunny Christie, lighting designer Jon Clark and sound designer Dan Jones.
