Second Stage to Present Long-Awaited New York Revival of Terrence McNally's Lips Together, Teeth Apart

Second Stage Theatre has announced two productions set for its upcoming 36th season. The first New York production in 23 years of Terrence McNally's Lips Together, Teeth Apart will come to the theater this fall, and the world premiere of Neil LaBute's dark comedy The Way We Get By will be presented in summer 2015.

Peter DuBois will direct Lips Together, Teeth Apart, which will begin performances on October 7. The play is set on the Fourth of July on Fire Island where a brother and sister and their spouses are spending the quintessential American summer weekend in an unfamiliar setting.

Specific dates remain to be decided for The Way We Get By, which follows two people who have no problems getting dates with their partners of choice as they navigate an awkward encounter after spending one night together.

"I'm proud to announce these two productions from writers I consider to be among the most important currently working in American theatre," said Second Stage Founding Artistic Director Carole Rothman in a statement.
