Seattle International Children’s Festival, in partnership with Seattle Repertory Theatre, will present Aurélia’s Oratorio, a display of stage illusion, physical theater, and circus acrobatics conceived and directed by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin for her daughter Aurélia Thierrée, May 7-11.
Aurélia’s Oratorio is inspired by European circuses and medieval drawings depicting upside-down and inside-out worlds. The show is a combination of physical theater, comedy, magic and dance, which is set to a soundtrack of accordions, chamber music, and gypsy jazz created specifically for the performance by the Tiger Lillies. The production will star Thierrée and feature Jaime Martinez.
