Birdland has announced plans for a new monthly concert series with composer Frank Wildhorn entitled “Frank and Friends,” which will begin on June 11 at 7pm. This June 11 concert will feature Rob Evan, Michael Lanning, and Morgan James on vocals, with Wildhorn at the piano. Jason Howland will act as musical director.
The one-night concerts will celebrate the songs and favorite performers from the composer’s wide range of work. All profits will go to The Actors Fund.
Frank Wildhorn is a multi-Grammy and Tony Award-nominated composer/producer. His Broadway shows include Jekyll & Hyde, Dracula, Wonderland, and Bonnie and Clyde. In addition, Wildhorn served as music director for the Goodwill Games in New York City and wrote the opening number for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
