Writer/actor Rick Najera will workshop his new Latino-style fatherhood comedy, Daddy Diaries, to be presented by San Diego REPertory Theatre at the Lyceum Theatre on January 27 at 7pm. Gary Blumsack will direct.
The solo piece explores Najera’s life as a father through his eccentric and comedic point of view. San Diego REP has previously hosted Najera’s four original productions, A Quiet Love, Latins Anonymous, Latinologues and Sweet 15 Quinceañera.
Najera’s Latinologues ran on Broadway, and has been produced in numerous venues across the country. He is currently Executive Vice President of Development for MioTV and co-creator of KartoonTV.com. His writing credits include comedies such as MAD TV and In Living Color. Najera is also the co-writer of the upcoming feature film, Nothing Like the Holidays, to be released December 12.
