Tony Award winners David Hyde Pierce and Sara Ramirez will announce the nominations for the 2008 Tony Awards on Tuesday, May 13 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The awards will be presented beginning at 8pm at Sunday, June 15 at Radio City Music Hall, and the ceremony will be aired live on CBS-TV.
In related news, Mario Lopez, who recently joined the Broadway cast of A Chorus Line, will host a special concert, to be taped at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sunday, May 11 for future television broadcast. It will feature performances from all 12 eligible musicals and musical revivals: A Catered Affair, Cry-Baby, Glory Days, Grease, Gypsy, In the Heights, The Little Mermaid, Passing Strange, South Pacific, Sunday in the Park with George, Xanadu, and Young Frankenstein. The special will air in New York on WCBS (Channel 2) on Saturday, June 7, as well as other national stations between May 26-June 7.
