Barrington Stage Company celebrated the opening of Mark St. Germain’s new play Dr. Ruth, All the Way on Saturday, June 30. Directed by Julianne Boyd, the production runs through July 21 at the St. Germain Stage.
Debra Jo Rupp stars as the legendary sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, who recounts her life, from fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport to becoming a sniper in the Jewish Underground Army in Jerusalem to her rise to prominence in America as a media personality, as she packs up her apartment before moving.
Guests at the performance included the real Dr. Ruth Westheimer, as well as William Finn, Lizbeth MacKay, and Jeff McCarthy.
The design team features Brian Prather (sets/projections), Scott Pinkney (lights), Jennifer Mueller (costumes), Gabriella Pollino-Rodman (wigs) and Jessica Paz (sound).
