PHOTO FLASH: Opening Night of Off-Broadway’s Rent

The cast for the new Off-Broadway production of Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent at New World Stages, celebrated its opening night on August 11. The show is directed by Michael Greif, who helmed the show’s original production.

The cast features Annaleigh Ashford (Maureen), Margot Bingham (Alexi Darling, Roger’s Mom), Adam Chanler-Berat (Mark), Nicholas Christopher (Collins), Arianda Fernandez (Mimi), Marcus Paul James (Mr. Jefferson, Paul), Tamika Sonja Lawrence (Mrs. Jefferson, woman with bags), Corbin Reid (Joanne), MJ Rodriguez (Angel), Matt Shingledecker (Roger), Ephraim Sykes (Benny), Ben Thompson (Christmas caroler, Mr. Grey, The Man), Michael Wartella (Steve, Gordon, Waiter), and Morgan Weed (Mark’s Mom). Also in the company are Sean Michael Murray, Xavier Cano, and Genny Padilla.
