The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles celebrated its 25th anniversary with a Simply Shakespeare reading of
The Merry Wives of Windsor at UCLA’s Royce Hall, on Monday, May 9. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson co-chaired the event, with the reading directed by Ben Donenberg.
In addition to Hanks and Wilson, participants in the reading included Kenneth Branagh, Graham Hamilton, Faith Hill, Eric idle, Richard Kind, Eugene Levy, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, William Shatner, and Martin Short.
All proceeds from the event support The SCLA and its arts based youth employment programs for inner-city youth, arts education in local schools, and professional union contracted productions that are accessible to all.
