David Hyde Pierce, Debra Monk, John Kander, and Rupert Holmes visited a recent performance of Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of Curtains, and visited with the cast afterwards.
The show — co-created by Kander and Holmes with the late Fred Ebb and Peter Stone — centers on a murder investigation taking in and around a Boston theater, where a fictional Broadway-bound musical is doing its out-of-town tryout.
Paper Mill’s production stars former Guiding Light co-stars Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer as Lt. Frank Cioffi and Carmen Cohen Bernstein, the roles respectively played by Pierce and Monk in the original Broadway production.
The cast also features Ed Dixon, Amanda Rose, Kevin Kern, Helen Anker, David Elder, Daniel Marcus, Aaron Galligan-Stierle, Dick Decareau, Rye Mullis, Anne Horak, Monique Alhaddad, Ashley Arcement, Colin Bradbury, Joshua James Campbell, Lauren DeCierdo, Mathew DeGuzman, Taurean Everett, Becca Kloha, Mary Ann Lamb, Ian Liberto, Patrick O’Neill, Happy McPartlin, Molly Tynes, Kyle Vaughn, and Dana Winkle.
Mark S. Hoebee has directed the production, with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter.
