The English National Opera (ENO) has announced its 2012-2013 season, according to published reports.

Among the highlights will be the UK premiere of the new Philip Glass opera, The Perfect American, based on Peter Stephan Jungk’s German-language novel that imagines the last months of Disney as seen through the eyes of a fictional Austrian cartoonist who worked for him. Phelim McDermott will direct the production, to open June 1, 2013. Christopher Purves will star as Disney, with choreography by Ben Wright.

Among the other productions to be offered will be Rupert Goold’s production of Wozzeck; a revival of ENO’s Death in Venice by Benjamin Britten, directed by Deborah Warner; a Rufus Norris helmed Don Giovanni; and Sunken Garden, composed by Michel van der Aa, with a libretto by David Mitchell.
