Paulo Szot and Taylor Louderman to Star in Muny South Pacific

Szot won a Tony for playing Emile de Becque on Broadway.

Taylor Louderman and Paulo Szot will star in the Muny production of South Pacific, running July 6-12 under the direction of William Carlos Angulo.

Louderman (Mean Girls) will play Ensign Nellie Forbush. At the Muny in St. Louis, she’s been seen in Chess (Svetlana Sergievskaya), Aida (Amneris), Grease (Sandy), Hairspray (Amber), and Kinky Boots (Lauren).

Szot returns to the role of Emile de Becque, for which he earned Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards in the 2008 Lincoln Center Theater Broadway revival. He made his Muny debut last summer in Evita.

South Pacific has a score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Hammerstein and Joshua Logan.

CASTING UPDATE: In addition to Szot and Louderman, the cast includes Joan Almedilla as Bloody Mary, Michael Canu as Lt. Joseph Cable, Bobby Conte as Luther Billis, Michaela Marfori as Liat, Robert Crenshaw as Stewpot, John El-Jor as Professor, Michael James Reed as Capt. George Brackett, Jeffrey Cummings as Cmdr. William Harbison, Grace Moore as Ngana, and Josiah Paik as Jerome.
