Patti LuPone to Star in Off-Broadway Revival of Full Gallop

Patti LuPone will portray Diana Vreeland in the off-Broadway revival of Mark Hampton and Mary Louise Wilson’s Full Gallop, which is set to begin previews at New York City Center, Stage II on January 8, ahead of an official opening night January 17. The run is scheduled for 12 weeks.

Full Gallop made its world premiere in 1995 at San Diego’s Old Globe before transferring to New York at City Center Stage II, with co-author Wilson in the central role. It’s about Diana Vreeland, the legendary editor-in-chief of Vogue. After she finds herself fired from that perch, she must reinvent herself and perhaps take the fashion industry with her.

LuPone is one of the reigning Broadway divas of our time, having won three Tony Awards, the last for her turn as Joanne in the revival of Company. She publicly parted ways with Actors’ Equity (the union representing actors and stage managers) after that run, but still returned to Broadway in 2024 to star opposite Mia Farrow in The Roommate.

Gordon Greenberg (The Baker’s Wife) will direct the production, which is produced by Aaron Glick and No Guarantees Productions, in association with Manhattan Theatre Club. The design team has not been announced.
