George C. Wolfe directs the memorial concert at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Betty Buckley, Patti LuPone, Bernadette Peters, and more Broadway luminaries will pay tribute to late Broadway favorite Elaine Stritch at a memorial concert event, titled Everybody, Rise! A Celebration of Elaine Stritch at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on November 17. The 4pm show will feature a limited number of tickets released to the public on the day of the event.
George C. Wolfe helms the tribute to Stritch's life and career, with a roster of performers that also includes Hal Prince, Christine Ebersole, Michael Feinstein, and Stritch's longtime accompanist, Rob Bowman. Additional participants are still to be announced. The event's honorary producing committee includes Chiemi Karasawa, Carol Fineman, Rob Bowman, Hal Prince, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Julie Keyes, Rick Borutta, Mindy Cohn, Joseph Rosenthal, Cheryl Wiesenfeld, and Will Gaines.
Stritch died at the age of 89 on July 17 after a Tony- and Emmy-winning career that included roles in Company, A Little Night Music, and 30 Rock, among many other shows. She recalled her life in her own solo production, Elaine Stritch: At Liberty, which Wolfe directed.
A percentage of all contributions to the event will be donated to the Elaine Stritch Scholarship Fund at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
