“Nothing’s quite the same as The Pajama Game.” That’s what audiences and critics were singing as the second Broadway revival of the 1954 musical opened last night. Seen here taking their curtain calls in the Roundabout Theatre Company production are stars Harry Connick, Jr. and Kelli O’Hara (center, in the red heart pajamas) with co-stars (left to right) Michael McKean, Megan Lawrence, and Peter Benson.
The opening night performance was followed by a party at the theater. Here’s another shot of Connick and O’Hara…
…and here’s Connick again with his wife, Jill Goodacre; their daughters (far left and far right); and Pajama Game director Kathleen Marshall (second from right).
McKean seemed to be having a great time at the party, posing with co-star Roz Ryan…
…and with his wife, actress Annette O’Toole.
Also on hand for the party: Richard Adler, who wrote the Pajama Game score with his late partner, Jerry Ross…
…and Kathleen Marshall’s brother Rob, who’s had a few successes of his own, such as the film version of Chicago.
Among the other notables in attendance were three stars of the upcoming Roundabout production of The Threepenny Opera: Singer Nellie McKay…
…Ana Gasteyer, who recently played Elphaba in the Chicago company of Wicked…
…and Jim Dale, a Tony Award winner for his performance in Barnum.
More first-nighters: Two famous Maurices, White and Hines…
…and Broadway veterans Denis O’Hare and Mario Cantone.
