Once on This Island Celebrates Successful First Week on Broadway

The Broadway revival of Once on This Island just finished its first week of previews at Circle in the Square Theatre, where it played to capacity houses through six performances. It will officially open on December 3.

Directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Camille A. Brown, Once on This Island features a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. The musical is based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy, and the revival production will feature new orchestrations by original orchestrator Michael Starobin, joined by AnnMarie Milazzo.

Hailey Kilgore leads the company in her Broadway debut as Ti Moune. She is joined by Phillip Boykin, Merle Dandridge, Quentin Earl Darrington, Emerson Davis, Alysha Deslorieux, David Jennings, Kenita R. Miller, Alex Newell, Isaac Powell, and Lea Salonga. The Storytellers for this production include Darlesia Cearcy, Rodrick Covington, Cassondra James, David Jennings, Grasan Kingsberry, Tyler Hardwick, Loren Lott, T. Oliver Reid, Aurelia Williams, and Mia Williamson.
