NYC’s Amato Opera to Cease Operations

New York City’s 60-year-old Amato Opera will close its doors after this season, as founder Anthony Amato has sold the opera’s building in the East Village, according to The New York Times. The company’s final season will include productions of La Bohème (March 7-April 5) and The Marriage of Figaro (April 25-May 31).
