The Playing on Air podcast has released a new episode featuring Michelle Williams (Blackbird) and Rupert Friend (Pride and Prejudice) performing a new audio drama by John Patrick Shanley, titled Last Night in the Garden I Saw.

Shanley's play is described as follows: "With one hop of the fence, a star-crossed lover (Friend) storms back into the life of the married
woman (Williams) he deserted. Hovering on the brink, will they bite into the forbidden fruit — or dare each other to walk away for good?" In the second half of the episode, host Claudia Catania — who is the podcast's founder and producer — joins the artists for a discussion. You can listen to the episode here.

Playing on Air has been producing short plays by prominent, contemporary American playwrights for a national audience on public radio and the Internet since 2012. Recent episodes have featured Timothée Chalamet, Audra McDonald, Zoe Kazan, Adam Driver, Denis O'Hare, and Bobby Cannavale in plays by Donald Margulies, Lynn Nottage, David Auburn, Julia Cho, Amelia Roper, and David Ives.
