Urie received a Drama Desk Award for his performance.
The off-Broadway hit Buyer and Cellar is currently running at the Westport Country Playhouse, with its Drama Desk Award-winning star, Michael Urie, once again returning to the comedy.
Written by Jonathan Tolins and directed by Stephen Brackett, Buyer & Cellar is a one-man show that tells the story of Alex More, an unemployed actor who gets the unusual job of manning Barbra Streisand's personal shopping mall, which is located in her basement.
Urie also starred in a national tour of the show that included stops at Washington, D.C.'s Harman Center for the Arts and Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum. He further took the production to London. This version will be taped for broadcast on THIRTEEN, the local PBS affiliate in New York.
