Full cast and creative team have been announced for the forthcoming West End production of Nicholas de Jongh’s Plague Over England which begins a limited run at the Duchess Theatre on February 11. The production is directed by Tamara Harvey, with design by Alex Marker and lighting by James Farncombe.
The show is based around the controversial 1953 conviction of the actor Sir John Gielgud, for persistently importuning men for immoral purposes.
It features Michael Feast as Gielgud, along with Celia Imrie, Simon Dutton, David Burt, Hugh Ross, John Warnaby, Michael Brown, Steven Hansell, Sam Heughan, and Leon Ockenden. Feast played the role of MacDuff in Rupert Goold’s recent production of Macbeth, which played the West End, BAM, and Broadway.
