Meet the Company of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre's No-No Boy

The cast and company of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre's No-No Boy met the press today in advance of performances set to begin next week, February 7, for a limited run through February 18 at Theatre Row's Studio Theatre.
Featuring a script from Ken Narasaki — adapting John Okada's book — and direction from Ron Nakahara, No-No Boy is set after World War II as Japanese-Americans return to the West Coast. The play follows Ichiro Yamada, who struggles to reconnect with the Seattle community, after taking a bold stance on questions of allegiance.

The limited run of No-No Boy is running in tandem with the Day of Remembrance, a day commemorating the Japanese-American internment during World War II. Events in numerous U.S. States are held on or near February 19, the day in 1942 that Executive Order 9066 was signed, requiring internment of all Americans of
Japanese ancestry.
No-No Boy stars Leanne Cabrera, Dinh James Doan, Chris Doi, Eric Elizaga, David Huynh, Scott Kitajima, Karen Tsen Lee, Claro de los Reyes, Shigeko Sara Suga, and Tony Vo. The creative team includes Sheryl Liu (set design), Hyun Sook Kim (costume design), Leslie Smith (lighting design), and Ian Wehrle (sound design).
